:Name:: Libra (Discarded Names: # 356 (Black), “Peeker”)
:Gender:: Female
:Race:: Mod Soul SenseMaster Type
:Age:: 16, apparent age varies based on Gigai
:Physical Description::
Custom Gigai – Primary Gigai
Art by Dallie (New Gigai/Modular System Active)
The more adult of Libra’s two Gigai, this primary body is a highly reinforced and strengthened frame that can handle punishment. At the same time, though, the appearance of the body belies this a bit. At five feet, eleven inches, Libra’s second Gigai is more imposing than her initial. It appears significantly older too, perhaps between the ages of 21 and 28. Her limbs are notably more toned and less girlish than her younger-looking Gigai. Libra has set her Gigai up with the same shade of green hair and vivid blue eyes as her soul and younger Gigai possess, causing this more advanced Gigai to seem like a several-years older version of her younger body. Libra has notably let her Gigai’s hair extend a bit, allowing it to reach Midback, rather than remain all short. Sometimes, Libra will wear her glasses, but having learned her lesson she tends to remove them during combat.
Standard Gigai/Soul Appearance – Reserve Gigai
Art by Nissie (Original Gigai/ Soul Appearance)
Five foot three, Libra’s standard Gigai is much younger in both size and form. It’s a bit less toned, and significantly less powerful to boot. Her hair is worn short-cut, and her body tends to have a somewhat natural look: she’s appears healthy, without being sleek, toned, or athletic. She clearly has a notable lack of muscle power compared to most people. She still manages to attract attention though, thanks to the unnatural shock of green hair. Libra almost always wears her glasses in this smaller Gigai, but it goes without saying that a Sensemaster certainly has no requirement of them.
:Personality::
There was a time, some many months ago, before Libra had the life experience she now does, when she thought that she was the only sane being in the known world. She thought of herself as a tool, if a valued one, of Soul Society. However, she had the honor and fate to be given a special assignment to go to the living world. Living as she did, her outlook on the world was revolutionized in less than a few months. At the very beginning, she suffered a small bout of culture shock, trying to understand the irrational way humans behaved.
Almost before she knew it, though, she adjusted, adapted, to a Living World life. Her duties to Soul Society were foremost in her mind. She let little distract her from it, but gradually, she grew curious about human life, and began to explore it, doing things such as visiting coffee shops and attending concerts. It was in the living world that she made her first true friends, a Changling Spirit known as Kagare, and an Advent Human by the name of Sosuke Richards. Richards and Libra gradually grew close through a number of conflicts in which they worked together, and only recently have begun faintly letting their emotions show, neither quite willing to take the big step.
She has become a very human figure, with a pride and personality and a sense of self and individuality that few of her brethren mod souls have. Unable to change the sacrifice made for her life, she has resolved instead to live the greatest life she can, in honor of the soul sacrificed to her.
:Clothing::
Custom Gigai
In Libra's new Gigai, thanks to the way several of her Modifications trigger, the Mod Soul is somewhat restricted in her clothing options. Due to the transformation of her arms, primarily that of her shoulders into the Pauldron Guards of her Main Arm units, Libra tends now to wear shirts with little to no sleeve, to minimize the chance of them actually getting damaged. A particularly common look is that of a blue tank top, one with a slight v-neck and a loose torso. Her arms, for the most part, are completely bare. Libra still tends to go with jeans for her usual legwear, though has taken a liking to a darker shade to match her top. Her older shoes have been replaced with new ones, white and black, rather simple in design.
Standard Gigai
This Gigai is still available for use, but is generally reserved as a backup.
Libra’s Gigai, thanks to being a personal Gigai possesses the same physical appearance that ‘she’ does, with the exception of being a slight bit taller and stronger-built. Normally, her Gigai is dressed in jeans, or some other long pair of lowerwear. Libra’s tops, by comparison, are relatively bright and catching to the eye, normally in green or blue to bring out her hair or eyes, and occasionally with some sort of design. She prefers T-shirts for normal wear, but it’s not entirely unheard of for her to wear something else.
Libra does, retain the glasses in her Gigai as well, as she likes them, and the look. They’re not needed, they do nothing, she just wears them because she can and she likes the style. Normal footwear is a surprisingly new pair of black and white tennis shoes, and white socks.
Soul Form
In Soul Form, Libra usually wears an outfit very similar to her modern clothing, however, she oftentimes chooses to don the white under robes of a Shinigami. Her glasses, however, even exist with her in Spirit form, and she wears them constantly. The outfit is usually completed with the standard sandals.
:Country/time:: Soul Society, present day
:Background Information::
About 15 years ago, the second ‘batch’ of Black-Class Modsouls was completed. Libra was among the first ten of the series, as Number 356. Like her ‘brothers and sisters’, Libra underwent a training program for Mod Souls from very early on. At first, it was simple education, and the classes progressed tirelessly, Instructed partially by the 12th Divisions scientists and developers, partly by the former students of the same course. With Mod Souls teaching Mod Souls, the second batch progressed much more effectively than the first, mastering the material more swiftly.
Even so, the course was long, repetitive and tiring. Libra, however, thrived in the setting, graduating the basic course in only five years, along with several others from the group. Others followed, but Libra was among the first. After education came development. Training was provided in the art of Kidoh, and in the unique enhancements that the Modsouls possessed. Sensemasters were known to struggle most with this part of the course, however. Whereas an Underpod or Upperbuff had the benefit of ‘knowing’ what was strengthened, it wasn’t always obvious to a Sensemaster.
Libra actually stalled at this point, trying to realize just what her ability was. Many of the others she’d first left the classes with were Upperbuff or Underpods, and this served to make her feel inferior, and it persisted as more and more modsouls passed her by, several quick students reaching that level of study, and surpassing before she did. She spent long hours in an attempt to study her way to her power. It didn’t help.
It was by the very act of searching herself for what ‘ability’ she possessed that she realized exactly what it was. She could scan living beings by concentrating on them, able to take a swift analysis of what would take others half an hour or more to test through various, more uncomfortable processes. This ended up earning her the nickname ‘Peeker’ from a rather perverted scientist. The nickname, to her anger, stuck.
In an attempt to find the limits of her ability to Bioscan, tests were set up but to ascertain accuracy, and to test her ability on other entities besides modsouls. The tests met with mixed results. Libra was highly accurate, but it seemed that she could not accurately bioscan anything that was not vaguely humanoid.
After study of her Bioscan was completed, Libra settled into life somewhere between a research assistant and a nurse for dealing with medical issues that came up amongst other Modsouls, particularly during their own testing and experimentation.
It was during this period that she actually had the opportunity to throw away her nickname, which she took with glee, claiming the name Libra… She never gave a reason why she chose the name, but she insisted on it. It didn’t match her completion date, it didn’t even seem to entirely match her personality. There didn’t seem to be any reason at all behind the selection, but regardless, it was a name she’d taken for herself, and she received it without incident.
Libra was also one of the first Mod Souls considered for transfer into the 4th Division; however she preferred her current work with the Scientists who created her. Eventually, though, Libra wouldn’t have that option. The disruption to her quiet, research assistant work came not more than a year ago, in the form of Guren. When many members of the 4th Division fell to Guren’s control, the Mod Souls were called into service to treat injured Shinigami in their place. Thanks to their training, it was a successful operation, however the relatively small number of Modsouls with abilities conductive to medical work made their impact rather small overall.
Following the Guren Incident, Libra decided to remain on a limited basis with the 4th Division, feeling responsible to help rebuild and train Shinigami recruits in medical skills. She remained with the 4th division for just over eight months, deciding to return to what she considered her home division following the Guild Siege and the Yumekoto Barrier Incident.
Since then, Libra had returned to her original duties, but for her, they didn’t last long. She was approached with an offer of a new position and task, a position that few Mod Souls would ever get a chance to take. She was going to the Living World as the eyes and ears of Soul Society. While the Shinigami were to replenish their ranks, it would be her task to stand by in Yumekoto City, and monitor the activities and progress of the Guild of the Advent. The opportunity, and the Shiny, Shinigami-level Gigai were enough to catch her attention. Her new mission had caught her up in a bit of curious excitement, as she eagerly prepared to experience life away from Soul Society.
The Living World
From Libra’s first arrival in Yumekoto, she had encounters with the Rogue Shinigami population. Initially making her base in Shinryoku’s apartment complex, Libra felt quite secure in its location, one inhabited by a number of former Gotei Members. As it turned out, though, it only caused her troubles, so after an incident involving a couple of Advent Shinigami, she changed her base’s location to an area nearer to the Public Headquarters of the Guild in Azuma Ku.
Libra met what was to become an important figure in her life for the first time during that incident as well, the Advent Human Sosuke Richards. She went about her duties with wholehearted dedication, having only small, brief brushes with mild danger from a number of small Hollow Incidents she assisted in resolving. Eventually, though, her time in Yumekoto made the Mod Soul curious about Humans and Human Life, and she ultimately decided to attend a concert.
It was here that she met Sosuke Richards for the second time, and here that they became friends. Sosuke still considered her something of a robot at the time, and indeed, she acted like it at first, but this is where human interaction was beginning to change the machine into something more human, and humans were beginning to accept it as such. The two became noteworthy friends after an unpleasant battle with Hollows and Constructs here.
The Mists: Prelude
Late to the scene of the Initial Battle outside the original, now abandoned Guild Headquarters, Libra joined the counterattack force, which set out to capture a foothold in The Mists. She worked alongside her Vice-Captain, Aaron Anchors, to confront the powerful Eternals and their Constructs, but ultimately contributed little to the actual battle, as she was recovering from the events of Legacy and had not yet completed the design of her new Custom Gigai.
Failsafe
The Mod Soul #354, Karn, an Underpod Mod-Soul who had long been an acquaintance of Libra, stumbled across a forgotten set of records in the Data Banks of the 12th Division detailing the creation of Mod Souls. His interests piqued, he further researched the material, and discovered that not only were Mod Souls products of Soul Society, but that Rukongai Souls were secretly sued for the purpose of creating them. He discovered details of a former revolt on the part of the Mod Souls, their subsequent putting-down by Shinigami, and the addition of Limiters and Failsafes to terminate errant Mod Souls in the event of another such situation.
This didn’t sit well with Karn, who knew Libra was away in the Living World. Fearing for her safety, as well as the safety of all Mod Souls, Karn took steps to protect himself from the Failsafe, and fled to the Living World. There, he met a small band of ex-Guild Members, to whom he explained his plight and the plight of Mod Souls. While their leader was hesitant, they agreed that steps should be taken to stop such abuse, and to find a way to reverse the Failsafe in existing Mod Souls.
Karn attempted to contact Libra about this once, but was interrupted by a Hollow Attack on a massive scale. Forced to retreat with the arrival of the Guild, his new friends were identified by one of the low-ranking officers as wanted rogues. Combining the efforts of a small group of Advent Humans pursuing the Guild, and Shinigami pursuing Karn, an attack was conducted upon their facility on the outskirts of Yumekoto….

Legacy
Libra met a young Spirit by the name of Kagare when she went to the site of a massive spiritual battle between Captain Sophus Marinos of the 8th Division, and Agaru, a villain long-presumed dead. Agaru was revealed to have surpassed Death as a Bone eater, but none yet knew just what these Bone Eaters were. Libra was tasked with researching them in the Centre 46 Archive. In so doing, the Mod Soul learned much regarding the Nature of Souls, information she kept as quiet as possible, shared only with the Captain. This discovery led to deep questioning of herself, as well, who and what she was, and forced her to confront the fact that Mod Souls exist through the destruction of other living souls.
Libra was eventually forced into single combat with one of the most terrifying forces to grace the face of the Three Worlds, the Bone Eater of the Air, Sasaki Hotaru. Initially, Hotaru only inflicted a lone heavy blow, and the two spent some time exchanging words, Hotaru attempting to destroy Libra’s confidence as a faux soul, a shell of a full human. Libra retorted that Bone Eaters will little more than that, themselves, and displayed pride in herself. Yet even her Will to Live was no mach for the mighty bone Eater, who gave her disfiguring blows before Libra managed to escape the battle. She fled to Yumekoto, and summoned the aid of the Division 14.
Post-Legacy
Libra, for the month following the conclusion of the Legacy Arc, was not seen once in the Human World. She still retained the greatest treasure and prize of the whole affair, the Papyrus of Ani. It revealed much secret information about both Mod Souls and Bone Eaters to her. This information led her to approach the Captain of the 12th Division with a radical idea, and the two of them spent much of a month working in solitude on… something…

Abilities
Gigai
Modular Combat System Gigai
Libra’s brand-new Modular Combat Gigai is designed to accept a wide variety of alteration to fit numerous situations. The system has been designed with numerous internal components altered to allow the setup of Ability Modules. Effectively, this turns the Gigai into a powerful, versatile weapon, given sufficient time to prepare, and equipment to set. It requires approximately a Full Hour of dedicated work time to reconfigure the body, in addition to access to some equipment and a secondary body. Listed here will be each currently modifiable component of Libra’s Gigai, and beneath each, a listing of available options. Configuration Data will be PMed to the Admin of any given thread, not to be deviated from.
Oh, and yes, this is just the Prototype, so there are bound to be some problems...
Module Creation requires Admin Approval, and is subject to Original Creator Consent.
System Core: The System Core is one of the most key and powerful types of components. They can only be created through extensive analysis of a particular race or type of technique. These Cores are designed to override the standard ‘Spirit’ Reiatsu of a Mod Soul, effectively causing the body and all reiatsu contained therein to emulate another race. Furthermore, extensive work to enhance the original cores can lead to cores that can increase certain parameters beyond just altering the baseline Soul Type.
| Quote: |
- Spirit Core – The Default, this core allows the Mod Soul to operate in a Natural Spiritual Pattern to them. There really is nothing special about the Spirit Core, it just serves as the container for Libra’s Soul inside the Gigai, and a Placeholder for the Core Switch System. This core allows Known Kidoh to be performed by hand, and also allows full functionality of all Body Components regardless of their Originating Race (Provided she has the capacity to actually use them, such as having a sword on hand in order to perform a Zangeki).
|
Mind Program: One of the most complex systems eventually slated for development, the Mind System is one which attempts to replicate abilities that are less like Kidoh or Techniques, and more freeform in nature. Perhaps the most notable of these would be replicating Spiriton manipulation, which would enable a part that could allow for the effect without requiring a Quincy Core. While no devices are even underway for this type of ability due to the sometimes unobservable nature of the abilities involved, that at lease is one effective option. All Manipulation skills would fall under this category, as well as purely mental techniques such as Telepathy, or the AdH Skill Fuwaku. Maximum of 1 Mind Program equipped.
Eye System: Effectively, the Eye System will eventually be designed to augment Libra’s natural Sensemaster Enhancements, or be configured to automatically transmit data back to a receiving station as she observes it, enabling ability scans to be used in components that much faster. Furthermore, Gaze-Based techniques, Eyebeams, and that sort of thing, if designed, would center here. Any ability related to both perception and illusion falls into this category. The Body can only Equip a Final Maximum of 1 Eye System.
Left Arm/Right Arm: Arm units tend to either be Powerful and Versatile offense units, or Defense/Support units. Generally (but not always), their effects are limited to the arm and hand on which they are equipped in such cases. Arm Units may also be massive, encompassing and disabling Hand Units for their equipped arm. Other Arm/Hand Combination units may additionally require an External Device to function to full effect. Arm Units have an Active and Inactive state. Generally, while inactive they’re fairly unnoticeable, but when active, they typically take on a bit of mass, and a mechanical appearance.
| Quote: |
- Zangeki Driver – This device can contain and store Data regarding different forms of the Sword Technique known as Zangeki. While this unit is equipped, Libra can save to memory any Zangeki Variation she witnesses, and can later reuse them at will, provided she has a sword in the Attached Hand to do so. When active, this device takes the form of a slightly raised pauldron, extending out pas the end of her shoulder but allowing for a full range of motion.
Current Zangeki Forms: Standard Zangeki
- Elemental Shifter Mk. I – By altering reiatsu flowing into the attached hand, the Elemental Shifter allows Libra to change the Elemental Attributes of any Ability executed with that hand. However, she doesn’t have free pick. Currently, the Shifter can turn any ability used with the hand into Fire Elemental, Metal Elemental or Lightning Elemental variations of the same. The option always remains to deactivate the system and use the default Element, as well. The Elemental Shifter’s active form is a snug-fitting pauldron that matches the curvature of Libra’s shoulder.
Element Options: Fire, Lightning, Metal, Default |
Left Hand/Right Hand: Usually even more discreet than Arm Units while inactive, Hand Units are always imperceptible and indistinguishable until they are turned on. These units typically either relate to specifically maximizing the function of one of the Arm Systems, or are designed to interface with an External Device. However, a number of powers simply require the Hand Position due to their method of use. The use of Hand Parts may be disable d due t a set Arm Unit, and some Hand Units and Arm units are incompatible.
| Quote: |
- Asauchi: ’Durandal’ – A custom-designed and forged Asauchi blade made especially for this project. Reinforced far above the lever of an ordinary Unseat’s sword, it more compares in direct durability and sharpness to a Shikai weapon, but lacks any abilities or special traits of its own. This sword also has no spirit within, thus, has no Releases. Rather than being manifest in a sheathed form, however the sword grafts onto her arm in place of her hand when the Module is activated. It varies in style from the usual Katana as well. Rather, it extends from her original wrist for the length from crossguard to edge, which is roughly two feet. The blade is highly polished steel, self-cleaning and self-repairing when not in use. Straight-bladed, dual–edged, and sharpened to a point, this sword arm is balanced specifically for Libra’s new Gigai, and thus can be wielded with great ease. Another interesting note is that in close quarters, the blade base can retract INSIDE the arm, to effectively shorten the blade on the end down to a foot in length to improve mobility.
- Kidoh Buster Mk.2 – Based upon Libra’s Kidoh Gun, this two-foot long cannon grafts onto Libra’s arm when active. The first foot of length meshes perfectly into her arm, just a s thick. A number of lights and designs decorate the unit, as well as what looks to be something similar to a blast shield and a cross between a Shotgun Pump. Beneath the firing position of this component is what appears to be a modified cartridge port similar to a Bolt-Action rifle, but it rarely sees any action. The final foot of the barrel can extend or retract into the base somewhat, about half the thickness. The barrel of sorts, the design along it surface hints that it might be able to Change Forms to accommodate different shooting styles. This cannon by default fires Force Bullets, however Libra can cast any kidoh she knows (or any modification thereof) through the gun, using their elementals and traits for the shot. Unlike her original gun, this gun won’t cast it for her, but it increases the velocity and impact, especially of blasting arts. It’s unfortunately incompatible with most binding and healing arts though.
|
Leg Units: Attached to the upper legs and hip, these enhancements tend to be vaguely similar to Leg ‘Arm’ Units. As in, they can provide augmentation to foot systems, completely replace any given foot system, and sometimes provide Defense, Support, or Movement, rather than attack. They also have the potential to interface with some external devices. The Body can only Equip a Final Maximum of 2 Leg Units.
Foot Units: Foot Units are similar to hand units in just about every regard, except for their location, and the fact that generally, when it comes to Movement Techniques at least, both feet need the SAME Unit to function properly. Some attack modules, however, may not need both feet.
| Quote: |
- Shylan Rush – Usually not even visible when active due to footwear, these units are no-less useful. Their slightly armored style adds some decent kicking power, and defense, but the real benefit of Shylan Rush is just that: Libra gains the ability to make use of the Shinigami Hohou technique, Shylan. There really aren’t any other special features to this device just yet, though.
|
Auxiliary Systems Minor internal and external systems designed for a disposable, One-Shot use. Their use ether destroys them completely, or renders them otherwise scrap. Thus, they need to be reconstructed in order to be reused (however, no rule says that more than one can’t be carried at a time, if she bothers to make multiples). Generally, these are less expensive than usual abilities, due to their one-shot nature and the fact that they have to be repurchased when used. (Thus, USING them decreases whatever rewards Libra may receive from threads, unless she chooses not to recreate the device right away.)
External Devices: Only one External Device may be carried around in the usual discreet fashion that most of the Gigai’s combat functions manage. While others can be carried around by hand, it’s generally not a good idea. However, External devices are extremely powerful able to both hold Module Extensions and entirely separate modules. Each of these is pretty expensive. One of the most notable uses of these devices is in the form of weapons which accurately imitate a Zanpaku-toh’s form via mechanical systems. Other functions include placing extremely powerful attack systems into an external unit with an internal power supply, to supplement Libra’s own Reiatsu.
Enhancements
Current Level: Two
NOTE: All Enhancements are fully-functional at all times, regardless of the System Core in use.
First Level Enhancements
- Sense Boost: Sight – Libra’s sense of sight is boosted to 240% of Normal Human vision, 20/20, and can see in low-light situations fine, and near total darkness as if in low light. Unnatural darkness still obscures her vision. Libra can also notice the visual cues that signal illusions better than most, and can ignore them, especially illusions of living things, due to her Biological Analysis Ability.
- Sense Boost: Other – Libra’s abilities of Hearing, Smell, Taste, Touch, and Reiatsu Sensing are 190% Greater than an ordinary Human. (or Ordinary Aware Person, in the case of Reiatsu Sensing)
- Biological Analysis and Comprehension – Simply by looking at a living thing, be it Plant, Human, Animal, or something else. Libra has an inherent ability to detect any sort of constant vital signs. She can also detect spiritual presence, level of awareness, and with slightly more observation, detailed information on the overall condition of the target. Without invasive techniques, this can be used to identify many types of internal damage; however it cannot identify infections and such, only that such exists. This also allows Libra to sense heart rate, pulse, ect through visual checking, which allows her to read moods and such via body cues, provided she’s familiar with the mannerisms and physical responses.
- Mechanical Systems Analysis – An uncanny ability to decipher how a device or machine functions just by looking at the finished product and seeing it in action. While an engineer of something might be able to look at a car and decipher how it works, Libra can do the same with no experience or actual dissection or opening up of the components. This does not, however, allow her to understand electronics such as circuit boards, just mechanical systems such as factory assembly, crane/pully/lever systems, engines, and the like. Those things of that nature which contain complex electronics are decipherable, but the electronic systems are treated as black boxes. Libra can comprehend the input and output from them, just not the processing inside. Depending on the complexity of the system, this could take several minutes to half an hour to fully reveal the scope of a system to her. These insights can also cue her into possible traps set involving the obvious devices.
Second Level Enhancements
- Autosensing – This trait forcibly turns all of Libra’s Analysis Powers ON by default. After attaining Autosense, Libra is always in a state of heightened senses, which requires conscious effort to suppress. Libra can suppress her abilities individually, or collectively, which is somewhat easier.
- Ability Comprehension – Libra’s ability to understand living things and technological systems comes together in a way to allow her to comprehend techniques and spiritual abilities on the level of How What When Where Who and Why. In effect, simply by observing a spiritual technique, be it an Advent Human ability, a Kidoh, Destructive Art, Hollow Skill, or Zanpaku-toh ability, Libra acquires a unique understanding of the processes used to create the effects produced. By comprehending this on a Cause and Effect level, she gains an intimate knowledge of how abilities work, just by witnessing them. There are a few stipulations, however. Libra must know that what she is seeing IS an ability, not a natural skill. Second, Libra must observe the skill from beginning to end without interruption. Third, Libra can only comprehend abilities ranging in effective power from 0 to 3. For example, an Arrancar’s Abilities would be beyond comprehension, but a Shinigmai’s Bankai would be comprehendible.
If Libra observes a Kidoh in this fashion, she may (At GM discretion) learn that Kidoh immediately. As she acquires understanding of other sorts of abilities, she, as a 12th Division member, can use the knowledge to create devices and weapons drawing upon the data she has gleaned.
Demon Arts:
Blasting Arts
- Number #16: Ice Needles
Description: Up to 20 needles of ice form on the ground around him. As the chant comes to a close, the user stomps on the ground, the needles flying upwards and spinning, and with the calling of the spell name the needles fly at the opponent, stinging and stabbing. As the needles fly, the user can yell "Break!" to have them shatter for a shotgun-like effect.
Incantation: Lost, broken shards, hailstorm arise beyond the ancient end! Blasting Art Sixteen, Ice Needles!”
- Number #18: Madan (Magic Bullet)
Description: The name of this spell accurate describes what it is. A tiny ball of spirit energy is formed, about 1/2" in diameter, glowing red. The ball then moves at incredibly high speeds and is capable of piercing through two or three inches of dense steal, causing a tiny explosion as it dissipates. There are two large advantages to this spell. One is that it can be formed anywhere, not just the hand, which would allow you to form it behind your enemy and fire it at their back. Another advantage is that on one incantation (or bypass), multiple Madan can be formed.
In Libra’s case, she can form up to 30 via Incantation, and can create 10 with just the Incantation-Bypass.
Incantation: ”Blast away the world, light, and aim. Open Fire, Blasting Art Eighteen, Madan!”
- Hadou #35: Tenken (Sword of Heaven)
Description: This spell is about as big and flashy as they come below the sixties. Meaning, of course, that if you use it, everyone knows where you are. Worse, it can be easy to dodge, if you recognize that it's coming. But if you don't... This spell summons a straight long sword, about eight feet long, made of pure Kidoh that falls from the sky and pierces the spell's target through. It takes one or two seconds from the time the incantation is complete for the sword to cross the space from heaven to earth (depending on how much the target moves.) The sword is capable of “homing” on its target, but it can't track more than fifty feet away from its original target point. The sword can easily be shaken by Shyunpo, dodging just before impact, or just by running into a building (not so much a dodge, but it prevents the person getting hit.) A person failing to dodge, on the other hand, is skewered like Mongolian barbeque. Libra likes to add a Lightning Attribute to this Kidoh.
Modification: Nanaken no Ten (Seven Swords of Heaven)
Details: Like its’ parent Kidoh, Nanaken no Ten strikes fast and hard from above. UNLIKE its parent Kidoh, this lesser version deals far less damage, but disperse the damage of the full Kidoh into seven separate blades, resulting in better accuracy and multitarget capability. The seven blades can also be staggered in firing, to set an opponent on the defensive. These Blades can be controlled a bit better than the original, and fired from different locations. Like the parent Kidoh, Libra likes to electrify this art.
Binding Arts
- Number #28: Confine
Description: For all practical usage, this Demon Art does nothing. However, when used, the Demon Art creates a 500 square foot area in which both entering and exiting teleporting and dimensional-shifting abilities are rendered inoperative. Most notably, this locks the ability for Shinigami to move to and from Soul Society, and Hollows to move between the Real World and the Dangai, however, other similar abilities are also disrupted. Attempts at teleporting INTO the effected area simply fail. This locking effect lasts for 10 full minutes before it fades, and does not require maintained concentration to hold the effect. Note that this doesn’t effect Speed skills, such as Shylan or Shyunpo.
Incantation: ”Sixteen Seals, Latch and Lock, Strengthen the Gate! Return not to this world nor any other! Confine!”
Restorative Arts
- Number #30: Soul Mend
Description: A kidoh which heals by transforming reiatsu into the target’s biological/equivalent components. There are two methods for applying Soul Mend: Converting the Target’s reiatsu, or converting the User’s Reiatsu. The Kidoh has an advantage of being able to restructure the flesh and body of a target swiftly, however it is very costly. Simply casting the kidoh takes a lot of spiritual energy. By converting the targets’ own Reiatsu into their body, the target’s life is preserved more easily, but their fighting ability and stamina is drastically drained. However, if the User converts their OWN reiatsu, there are no adverse effects on a target, and thus highly exhausted and injured people can be healed, however, doing so exhausts the user, disabling them from using any abilities higher than level 1, or any Kidoh above #33, for several rounds.
Incantation: ”Broken Body, Yet the Soul is whole. Be one, and be whole again. Life’s source builds Life’s vessel. Restorative Art, Thirty. Soul Mending.”
- Number #31: Toxin Purge
Description: This is for small things like alcohol intoxication, food poisoning, insect and snake bites. Breaks toxins down into their harmless elements, thereby eliminating their effects.
Incantation: unknown _________________
